Often our resolutions come from a place of judgement & discontent with who we are or what we look like, so we resolve to make ourselves better. Stop…you’re doing it wrong!
Instead of telling yourself that you’re not good enough, resolve to take care of who you are now. Self-care will ultimately lead to self-improvement. Taking better care of ourselves often does need to include dietary and exercise changes to our lifestyles. However, it’s your motivation factor that will make you more likely to stick with healthier choices. Ask yourself, are you doing it for yourself, or for the validation of others?
Self-care is necessary, not selfish! Instead of resolutions, set self-supporting goals. Decide what it is that is keeping you from living in a way that is less than desirable & give yourself choices, not restrictions, on how you can make improvements. When you care for yourself you are better equipped to care for those around you.
