Can I put my membership on hold? As you might imagine, we get this question alot. People join gyms for many reasons, and we’ve found that for our members, being flexible (pun intended) is one of them. We’ve always taken pride in truly giving people what they paid for and that means that if for any reason you are away and unable to use Saratoga Health and Wellness for good reason (vacation, sickness, hospital, winter away) we will gladly extend your membership.

So for that reason, the resounding answer is, “Yes. Of course you can put your membership on hold, and we won’t charge you any fees to do so.” Officially, here’s our stated policy:

You may place your membership temporarily on hold for up to half the length of your contract (in total), and you may do so up to twice during your contract period. So that means for example, that if you sign up for 6 months, we will happily extend your membership up to 3 months if you are unable to use the facility for legitimate reason. If you have a contract with monthly installments, we DO expect you to keep up with your payments on schedule, and at the end of your membership, you’ll be credited for your time.  This keeps our accounting simple while still giving you credit for unused time.  If you don’t feel like using your membership, we’re sorry, but tough luck! The key word here is legitimate!

If there are extenuating circumstances, please talk to us. We’re reasonable people and do very reasonable things for our members. We hope this answers the question. Keep moving!
